Certain points in the rotation have a LOT of slack compared to other points, TDC has a good amount of slack, i find that with the crank pulley its worth it to remove your PS and Alternator belts, and then invest the $30 for a chain strap wrench + a long pipe to hold the pulley. The only other way i have been able to get the crank pulley off was if the tranny was off and i could put a punch thru on of the flywheel bolt holes and immobilize the flywheel. Ive been trying to find what tool fits in that giant hexagon shaped hole on the end of the crank pulley, as im sure this is how Honda does it. But no luck on that lead.
