the plus and the minus are just two different standards/methods of burning dvd disc. each standard/method was started by an alliance of hardware and media companies.
the +r is better imo because you can bitset them to appear as dvd-rom discs. when you burn a +r disc with stock firmware, you burn the information that says what kind of disc it is... so, with hacked firmware, you can make the burner burn "dvd-rom" into the information of that disc. this makes your burned movies compatible with
any dvd player, as long as you have quality blanks.
-r media already comes identified as -r media before you burn it, and there's no way around it. but they do work in ps2 and xbox where +r doesnt.
i haven't tried burning any ps2 games onto +r discs bitset to dvd-rom discs. i think i should try :rick:
