I've already climbed under the car and had somebody shift through the gears. The linkage looks fine as it's shifting through the gears. It just won't go into first even with brute strength force. While the car is idling, i can hear a strange noise coming from the trans while it's in neutral. It goes away whenever i put it into gear, which of course is not first. This leads me to believe it's not the linkage and something internal. I've had no time to dissassemble it yet. Any more advice on what i should look for would be greatly appreciated. I was hoping somebody has had this problem before and could tell me what it was or is. Thanks again.
