Here's my thoughts.. torque steer is most prominent in cars w/no LSD.

When you say you have a JDM R transaxle, I'm assuming it is equipped w/LSD..

Why don't you check the LSD to make sure it is operational before tearing into everything? Here is the procedure from the helms..

1. Set the parking brake and block the rear wheels

2. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it with saftey stands in the proper locations

3.With the engine off, shift the transmission into 1st gear

4.Rotate either front wheel by hand, and check that the other wheel rotates in the opposite direction

5.If the opposite front wheel does not rotate, or if you cannot spin the front wheels @all, the limited slip diff is faulty and should be replaced.
