Because unless you drop some serious coin on your motor, it's still gonna be slow. Straight line, in the turns, doesn't matter.
If you invest in a nice suspension and tires (and larger and wider wheels preferably) then it'll at least be fun (and faster) to drive in the turns.
I don't really see the appeal in dropping a half second from your et when you're starting with what you got. I'd much rather tear down a windy road than make a 16-17 second pass.
But that's just me.
And even if you DO end up building some drag monster...you are gonna need some suspension, tires modification to help your times.
And BTW...you won't likely get much help with an attitude.
