The stereo code was printed on a little plastic card in the owner's manual package when the car was new. Dealers need the stereo serial # to look it up, maybe you gotta prove it's not stolen?

It's an interference engine, but it's still dumb luck whether a valve gets bent during the couple seconds it takes for the camshaft to coast to a stop. I wouldn't risk it - get the belt changed.
