I just bought a used 1998 Accord EX with an F23A1 engine. It has 93,000 miles and probably needs a new timing belt. If that belt breaks, will that engine be ruined?

The closest Honda dealer is 90 miles away. I will need the radio code if my local mechanic replaces the belt. The manual says to contact the closest dealer, but they will not reply to my emails for help? Anyone know how toget the code?
