Here's an equally educated statement to the one you just made:

I believe the worst has come mostly from the Republican side by cloack and dagger authoritarians that prey on religious voters.

Either way you say it, that sounds ridiculous.

The campaigns themselves have made plenty of distortions, and if you look at factcheck.org I don't think you'll find an overwhelming proportion of the misleading stuff on one side or the other.
