It's not bad to not clay before waxing. Infact, I'd throw in another step for when you clay bar, after--use meguiars colorX before NXT. It's a pre-cleaner type product and will help get it looking its best.
I'm saying if i skip the claybar part, is that bad. I used colorx last week after washing, too lazy to do it again. I got mad swirl marks though, it made the color look a little deeper and wet, but did not remove many swirl marks.
