$5000? For what, a tranny plated in gold? I bought a used tranny with 30k miles from a 2000 for $700 and had it installed for another $300. Why did I buy a used tranny with 30k? Well, it's right around the first tranny fluid change interval and I figured for 1/3 the price of a new unit it was worth the risk. So far it's been perfect.
