I have Koni's and Eibach springs with an Eibach rear camber kit.
I'd recommend any higher quality end spring + quality shock combo over a coilover, simply from the fact that I think keep it simple is a great rule of thumb. Plus if you ever wan't to go back to stock the higher end shock and camber kit can still stay on the car and will really go well with it.
I've had the full setup on a body kit-wheel combo and stock setup it looked great both ways. And both the Koni's and Eibach's are guarenteed for life.
But I think an H&R spring or even substituting a quallity shock like those from TireRack would be awesome too. Your local A-zone may even have Bilstiens.
I found my biggest handling change came from massive stickier tires, springs and shocks can only do so much alone. Bigger sways made a noticable differene too.
