i attempted to get into the IPO, but the raffle/auction style it was done in freaked me out.

there was no price set ... you'd throw out a dollar figure and the number you wanted to buy ... if you bid high enough (and got chosen), you'd get the stock, no matter the IPO. so, if you said ... i want 1000 google shares @ $150 each ... you'd make the purchase completely blind.

3 days before the release, i heard figures as high as $115, some as low as $40.
