I am in the same boat, they told me it would be $1500 to replace mine. My car does have 135,000 on it, but I can't imagine anyting would cost that much on a 11 year old car!!! Sounds like they are just wanting me to buy another car?

Can the ABS be disengaged safely? As long as I have have good disk brakes I am not too worried about it.
