that is an option, but the more popular uses of .bins and .cues go like this ...
i have a garage band named Moop. i make a demo cd, but want to email it to my friend. he's a complete tool and can't figure out how to work his recorder.
i make an image of my demo cd, ftp it to an account, and set it up for his download.
this happens millions of times a day around the world for garage bands like mine.
