okay.......listen......

A stick shift means you do it yourself. it has 5 gears on most accords (except 7th gen, they have 6) plus reverse and neutral in the middle.

to slow down most people just put it in neutral and use the brake until they have to go again, and then back into first gear when they start to go again

when u park, there is no "PARK" in a stick shift. there is either in gear or in neutral. so, unlike automatics, there is nothing to keep it from rolling away. thats y they use the parking break

they put it in first so that if the parking break ever fails it wont just roll away as quickly.

they keep it in reverse so that if they are facing downhill it will have a harder time rolling down if the parking break ever fails

btw since u have an automatic i wouldnt try to keep the car in "D4, D3, 2, 1 or R" since it wont turn off (unless u use the key to unlock it after the car is off to shift) and it wont turn on.

there.

do you get it now????
