Well, since I have an "okay" 500mhz compaq that is okay for internet and word processing (most of what I do)...

I was thinking, hmm...can I hook up the dell with ethernet cable to the cable modem, and connect the compaq up to the same modem with USB cable?

I'm cheap and don't want to but a router or ethernet card for the compaq, heh.
