i got on instant messenger in linux the other day, then got back on in windows today and tried loading a buddy list i had saved and it gave me an error

"One or more of the additions or modifications to your Buddy List were not able to be saved."

so now i have no buddies, and if i add one, as soon as i add it, it disappears saying the same thing.

i've tried installing old aim versions and the newest and still the same error comes up. i have no idea what's causing it, any ideas guys?
