is the motor/tranny still in the car? since you said the block is out im guessing the tranny is out also? anyways...i had to take mine out today on my old 1st gen teg, greasy as no other and in ****ty condition and the tranny came out pretty easily...

get all the bolts out and it should spread open some..on my car theres a rear cover that is under where the tranny bolts to the motor, its black and thin metal but needs to come off (if its even on there) once it spread a little i took a big as flat head screwdriver and GENTLY pried the tranny away from the motor, making sure i didnt damage any of the surfaces.

just check and double check to see you have all the bolts out. if you do have them all out then it may just need some convicing to come off...good luck
