I love how Republicans always come back to that point of rhetorical nonsense.

When has any president, regardless of party, asked for permission from another country to go to war? There's a big difference between getting real allies on board, and "asking permission." Real allies add legitimacy to our position. Real allies help foot the bill in both troops and money.

What I want is for a president to only use war to defend the country as a last resort, and that's not what happened at all with Iraq.
