Default Gsr Block with Ls Crank and Rods OPINIONS and HELP NEEDED

I have a 95 LS. Ive read on a couple places that I would be a lot better off doing LSVTEC if I was using a GSR Block with LS crank and rods. It already has the oil squirters, the head will bolt right up, its got the internal oil passages, and its got a stock block girdle. Does anyone know or see any problems with doing the GSR block with LS rods and pistons. Im going to get a GSR block and get some forged rods and pistons. Im going to built it up slowly because I have the money for the block but not anything else. What are your opinions and such. Im just getting the block with no internals(gsr crank or gsr rods). Im just going to find another used ls crank. Then sell my engine swap to help pay for the one im building. Im also planning to use a b16a tranny.
Thanks for any help or opinions
