Cheney seems to have the upper hand when it comes national defense, but that would be expected since he has so much experience in that area and has the ability to speak about it matter-of-factly.

When it came to gay marriage he couldn't really say anything because his personal beliefs are not in line with Dubyas, but he has to toe the administration's line. Edwards made the point that gay couples should have marriage-like benefits but marriage should remain between a man and a woman; Cheney couldn't really say anything.

They're now on health care and I think Edwards is a bit more outspoken on that, he is showing more of a plan to improve health care whereas Cheney is claiming that the only thing which makes health care so expensive is too many malpractice lawsuits and has thus far only gone back to that issue rather than actually talking about healthcare.

We shall see how the rest goes.
