Default swap or LS/vtec?

im a little new to this site, but as far as i can tell this is a bad ass site w/ people who know their shit.
OK HERE GOES...ive got a 98 teg LS w/ a couple mods (CAI, small ignition stuff, and suspension stuff). but the real question is...

should i go w/ an LS/Vtec or a B16A SiRII (or a B18c gsr) full swap?

wat would i need if i did the LS/Vtech, other than the obvious head, and fuel, oil upgrades, new studs, 1 more wire tapped, and that stuff.
and how much of a pain in the ass is this gunna be to do?

-OR- should i go w/ the swap and build from there?
what all should i make shure is coming w/ the swap (again other than the obvious)?
How much will this be a headache to do?

IM LOST!
and if i did the swap (could i use my LS tranny [unless the other came w/ LSD]) or would that even be a good idea?

could i use the CAI that i spent 250 ballhairs on? and the other stuff i mentioned?
