There are a lot of reasons the Celica didn't sell well, one of the main ones is price. Toyota always sticks some combination of options on their cars, and the Celica GT with an automatic transmission and that options combo stickers at like $22k. That's a whole lot to ask when competing against the base RSX which is over $1000 less, and a bunch of other cheaper cars.
But hey I've already said all of this stuff in the N&R thread which was linked to.
Just because theres more GT's than GT-S's doesnt mean you forget about he GT-S. It's still there adn its still a Celica...and it still beats the Scion as far as HP, Torque and Curb Weight.
The headroom between the Celica and the tC differ's by barely an inch...wow.
And while comparing the RSX-S and the GT-S is fair according to performace and looks...it's stupid to compare the price. OBVIOUSLY the RSX-S is going to be cheaper. That's what Honda is known for. The 2 have competed very well...but around THIS area, the Celica beats the RSX as well. People are drawn more to it than the RSX...and the same will hold true for the tC as well.
