I've already 'aquascaped' the 29gal (made a custom under gravel jet system w/ camo-ed jets, camo-ed pvc tunnels, drift wood and some rainbow rock) and the 6gal with live plants . I might even do a custom rock panel background for the 29. You don't need to spent endless amounts of money on equipment. Its all about DIY when possible for me.

When I get a bigger place i will probably get a 100-180 gal and just build a custom filtration system from scratch.

But, I am by no means a fanatic aquarium keeper.
