Just had a thought, maybe the code was a 1 instead of a 10. O2 sensor makes sense. Would it make the car perform like that??? How long are the dashes when your reading the trouble codes?

I just watched the video on checking codes on a 92-95 civic though, and the flash seems pretty long, like a ten. And the problem happens with the O2 sensor plugged in or disconnected.
