I'm working on a similar project except i'm redoing the whole interior.
Removing process is not extremely difficult but is really time consuming primarily due to the fact that you have to remove many parts to remove the dash.
It took me about 5.5 hours to remove it. this varies depending on your
experience of working on a car.
It is too long to post here. PM me so that i can provide you with detailed instruction.

One piece of advice that I would give anyone who is attempting to work on his/her car is "GET A FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL!!!"
Trust me. It is extremely helpful no matter what you are trying to do.
I don't think i could've done it without having a service manual.
They are not expensive. I got a PDF ver on a CD off ebay for about 5 bux + shipping. :-)
