Maybe I'm just not explaining to clearly. I really wish I could remember what he was saying to me this morning.
He said he brakes and presses the clutch in, downshifting from 5 > 2, while letting off the clutch just a little so as not to redline, and keeps his foot on the brake as well. Fudge, I can't remember what he said after that...something to the effect of the engine and brakes and downshifting all working together so the brakes don't have to work that hard...
