Hey guys, i picked up a y8 longblock the other day and am planning on swapping just the head onto my y7. i figured while its just sitting here, i might as well clean it up, especially the carbon buildup on the exhaust runners and on the bottom of the valves and stuff.
i was recommended to do the following:
Detergent (not liquid)
Bottle brushes (baby section)
brushes for pots and pans or any type of plastic scubing brush.
Soft mat for bathtub.
Gloves if you don't want to get your hands dirty.
Some laundry Detergent like TIDE (preferably the dry, not liquid). Get something soft to put on the botom of your bath tub and fill the tub with hot water with detergent. Scrub it with bottle brushes. Get some platics brushes that are used for scubing pots and pans. Do Not use metal brushes. Don't use any chemicals like carb cleaner or brake clean unless you're doing this out side.
other than removing the vtec solenoid what else should i do?
thank you
