The game, while on the right track, simply does not have all of the customizing options like NFSU had. I dig how they had real names on parts, but there is simply not enough for my own taste. Not to mention I beat the game in one sitting, and the extras are rather lackluster.
Just rent the game and save yourself fourty some odd dollars.
On another vote, if you love fighting games, Street Fighter: Aniversary Collection is a great game to get. I even got a custom-made joystick made for it and it plays perfectly for me. Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution is another excellent fighting game with great replayability and amazing depth.
Of course, GTA3, GTA:VC, and soon-to-be-released GTA:SA are great games. I still play them occasionally due to the ridiculous amounts of stupid shit you can do in both games.
GT3 is a classic, too, but wait for GT4 to come out come six or seven weeks I believe.
