Really, either option would be pretty good. All said and done, you'd probably end up spending more on the d16+turbo route (unless you're a good shopper... it is possible to piece together a turbo setup for pretty cheap), but it would be a bit faster than the B18B. The B18B is a strong motor however, and would be a pleasure to drive around with, and if some day, down the road you wanted to turbo the B18B, it would blow the D16 out of the water.

I'm on the same page with whitey here. But I have a slightly different opinion about the transmission. If you used a relatively small turbo, that transmission can be a LOT of fun. The gears are really tall, but you get torque with boost added, so I'm fairly certain that a D16z6 turbo with CX gears would be a blast. I recommend using a small turbo with that setup because waiting for a turbo to spool with tall gears is like watching flys ****.
