I don't think Los Angeles is the "paradise" people speak of, it's the area's around it that make southern California so nice. Los Angeles itself certainly isn't wonderful, but the coastal city's right near it and things like that make that area gorgeous.

In any case, if you wanted more "beauty" you should have gone to the Bay Area.
