I don't know about hydrolic Hondas, but hydrolic Mazdas are adjustable. Check the FSM/Helm's for your car.

Clutches and hydrolics are a really touchy thing, you have to be somewhat experienced to know what's going on. An early catch and somewhat tight pedal sounds good to me, though.
