I usually eat breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack. That last snack should be at least two hours before bed. All of those snacks are veggie salads and fruits. For breakfast, I usually eat oatmeal. Lunch and dinner is usually brown rice and a lean meat (chicken, fish, sirloin beef steaks), and veggies.

You don't have to cut the carbs, just cut the starch. IE eat rye or wheat bread instead of white bread, brown rice instead of white rice, etc etc. Avoid salty food as well. Also, drink a lot of water. It will keep you filled up and somewhat surpress your appetite.
