You have to pull the head, pull your oil pan, take apart the entire lower rotating assembly(crank, rods, etc. then once you have the pistons out of the motor, replace the rings. Maybe you don't have to pull the head.....but i've never seen pistons inserted into a block from the bottom as far as re-assembly goes....
