There is actually a two year old agreement that would allow Honda to market a car that might compete with the Acura RSX Type S.
When that agreement was made public, everybody instantly thought the EP3 was going to come with a K20A2, but it never materialised, and now the first line is at its model end. Sometimes Honda will introduce a high performance version of a car to boost sales the last year before a model change, so it's still a possibility, but remote.
The K motors in the now famous Far East coupes is their equivalent of the K20A3, but the series they competed in allowed enough modifications for them to come out on top.
The way that Honda is playing with computers and mild improvements, I wouldn't put it past them to have a 180 HP K motor in a new Civic platform.

That'd make sense, marketing-wise.
The K20Z1 motor only has 10 HP more than the K20A2 motor, but they made enough other changes that I hear it's like you're driving a completely different car. Torque everywhere, quicker acceleration. If they do something similar w/the new Civic line, they wouldn't necessarily even need 200 HP.
