I want to do a B18 swap in my 93 Del Sol S. It currently has the "Powered by Hamsters" D15 in it. I'm doing the B18 swap, and turboing it. I'm looking for 300+whp. (or whatever to get it into the 11's) but still be daily driven. I'm looking for lots of information.
First... Which B18 is best? Money isn't the issue because I can get the motor cheap. I want to make a lot of power, so it'll be rebuilt. I was told the B18C1 is the way to go. Someone else said LS non-vtec.
So, I need to know which is best for boost, and why. And how about the tranny?
Secondly, what do I need to rebuild on it? Obviously low compression pistons and some good rods. But what about a cam, port 'n polish, ect ect?
Also, I'm doing some research on turbo components and systems. Now, I'm going to have a full computer built into the car, so if there's a good system to run on a laptop or whatever, let me know, cause I'll have the computer in there.
Otherwise, what else is there I should get?
Any information regaurding turbo, components, manifolds, pumps, ect, let me know what's good! I want to build a good system.
Not counting the cost of the motor swap, I would guess to have like $3-4k, maybe more for the turbo sys. But who knows. I want to build it as efficiently as possible.
