The nervousness shows up as a constant, when you lie they get a new and non-constant spike in activity.
You can lie and get away with it though, all you have to do is just genuinly not remember something or believe your own lie.
The best bet, best advice I can give anyone getting into Law Enforcement: Just be honest. If you lie and get caught, it will make other departments very wary of hiring you, and the one you lied to surely wont hire you. They don't care what you've done in the past (for the most part - there are disqualifers of course), the idea is that now you're supposed to be upstanding and honest, not a liar.
