The clutch and the pressure plate together determine how it engages. I agree that some 6 pucks grab hella hard. I think it somewhat has to do with the pressure plate as well. The only reason the clutch grabs hard is because the pp lets it engage. Now if you had better control of how much pressure is applied to the clutch, you'd have a smoother engagement. I know it sounds funny that someone would use a stock pp with a 6puck clutch but people have done it with daily drivers and it works. I've also seen people use stock clutches with really stiff pp and also have worked out fine for the streets.
