Ground wire is simply wire that leads into a grounding point. There is not specific ground wire.

Like stated above, stores like Home Depot or car audio stores will sell wire of that gauge. I believe that OEM size is 8 gauge. But it really doen't hurt to go with 4 gauge.

You will find that if you buy a wire with more strands, they are much more flexible and easier to work with.
