backup sensors on on the side of the tranny that correlates with the exhaust manifold...they are two wires that connect to the wiring harness
if your speedo cable is too short see if you can find some slack in the cable b/c it should still fit...if not then scour for some 90-93 teg speedo cables (though i'm not sure if they are longer or how hard it would be to take them out)
the car will run fine w/o egr...it is b/c you are using another ecu that doens't require it and won't register its operation
