Honda is gonna have to pay people to take the '02 Accords once the '03's arive. The dealers are the ones who will have to eat them, because they've already paid for them. Man, are they gonna take a hit. NOBODY is going to want an '02 with 200hp and a 4 speed auto when they can get 240hp and either 5 speed auto or 6 speed manual, for about the same price.
But at the same time, it'll be nearly impossible to negotiate down the msrp of the 03 Accords for a couple or few months. So I guess you can say it evens out.
At least Honda, and every other brand, don't screw themselves like Saturns who isn't suppose to negotiate, even on year end models. But dealers are allowed to give a "market adjustment" of a few hundred dollars that they don't advertise about.
