Default Want to install HID kit in JDM headlights....

okay, right now I just have my JDM's wired up so that the outer H4's, only 1 of the filaments is being used as a low bean, and the inner h1 is the high beam (totally worthless). So anyway, i'm ready to order a Philips h4 HID kit, but I want to know how I can wire the H4's so that both filaments are used, so I don't have to pay for both an h4 & h1 kit. I did a search, but all I came up w/ was a post that said "It seems like you would have to use relays" and that was it. so....do you have to use relays? can I just wire both usdm positive wires to the bulb & splice both grounds together? or would that screw things up?
