#1 -- in japan...Honda's are actually considered "cars" ...or even sports cars in some cases (Type R's, Type S-Zeros...etc.)
#2 -- in the US, Honda's are considered econobuckets that give good gas mileage and reliability.
#3 -- because of #2, Americans do not want to pay for performance. Becuase of Americans....there's an Acura division...to make American's feel better that they are paying more for an Acura...than for a Honda. Nobody wants to pay 90k for a "honda" NSX...they want the "Acura" status.
#4 -- Americans would rather have a gas guzzling truck or sport utility vehicle than your average high revving Civic.
