The V6 is faster in every respect, the 0-60 in 8.3 was done at a very high elevation on a hot day. It's much faster especially on the highway than the 4 cylinder. The V6 has 40 more horsepower and only like 150 more pounds, if that. The 4 banger 5 speed might have close 0-60 times because of the stick.
I agree, I've messed with 6G V6 sedans in the past, and despite the automatic, they had me every time - be it from a dead stop all the way up through top end. Unless you've got some serious mods or you're fooling with an inexperienced driver, you're going to lose.
