Please don't take offense, but are you sure you have the VTEC Killer cams? Or if you do, it sounds like you don't know exactly what they do. The VTEC killer cams eliminate the VTEC lobe on the camshaft entirely. Instead, the regular intake and exhaust valves have a lobe profile very similar to the stock VTEC one (high lift, long duration).
Obviously, an S2000 equipped with VTEC killer cams will have a very different idle, and actually not make much power below ~5500 RPM. In fact, you are losing power below this RPM range compared to stock because of the cam profile. You are essentially in VTEC at all times, so you won't feel any type of "engagement." The advantage to this is a removal of weight from the valvetrain, since you can take out the third rocker arm, LMA's, etc.
