Mostly in the emissions programming since they are OBD3 now.

They kind of glaze over OBD2 because it was shunned for so long but there are a growing number of fuel/air maps for them now....they actually program similiar to the OBD1 ECUs.

The K series also has the security features built into them so if you are swapping a K motor over to a non K motor vehicle it takes a bit of work to get it to bypass. I watched one being put into a 2k civic last year and the wiring nightmare took a while to figure out....2 months later and a lot of hassle with Honda they got it running on the stock ECU. Most people go aftermarket management when swapping in a K motor to an older car.
