I wondered about that, too. The 2001 V6 had 200 h.p./195 torque vs. the present I-4 with 160/160, so it should be faster, right? I've ridden in both, and the V6 seemed to pull better. I searched and found some interesting results; sources cited below info. (I did not handpick the info. I posted the first three sources I found.)

I was actually suprised at the stats. I figured there would be a more appreciable difference. However, I suspect that the V6 would be superior at higher (and illegal) speeds, and perform better when loaded with people/luggage.

Just don't try to take your I-4 and race a 7th gen V-6. You will be owned.

Does anyone have any drag strip experiences to backup or dispute the numbers?
