There's really not any steps to take... you just let the guy push the pedal for you and you see how much power you make. If you are tuning and you're doing it yourself then you might want to have some tools handy and be ready with a timing gun to add/remove timing manually between runs. You may also want to adjust fuel pressure if you have that capability. It all really depends on what you are doing there.
