Make sure you get high temp paint... prep the valve cover, wash it, make sure its clean, and sanding with fine grit sand wouldn't hurt. That's the cheapest way, or you can send it out to get powder-coated-so paint will never fade. I know of a guy if you're interested.

I was going to paint mine, but got a real Type R one instead. I was afraid paint will fade and my motor gets really really hot, didn't want to risk anything.
