well, we've certainly learned a great deal about pollution and conservation. i mean, i dont think people knew about ozone during the industrial revolution. i think that the gov't can apply the lessons we learnt that to a new colony on another planet.

most of the countries we have beef with cannot afford sending a spacecraft in orbit let alone go to another planet. i dont think we'll have MUCH conflict on property in mars. we'll probably have a couple of spiffy peace treaties too.
